It's quite rare that the full Moon will fall on the Summer Solstice, but this month it will, 20TH June 2016, this hasn't happened since 1948! I for one will be out enjoying this spectacle!

The solstice is the day with the most minutes of sunshine, It’s when the midday Sun is the year’s highest, the Sun’s path across the sky makes its longest and most curvy arc, check out your shadow at 1:00 PM, this Monday will be your shortest shadow of the year!

The full Moon, by landing exactly on the solstice, will rise as the Sun sets but is opposite the Sun in all other ways too, the Sun gets super high so this Moon must be super-low. Its loftiest is at 1 AM, it’s so low, it's going to look amazing.

The moment of the full Moon is early Monday morning, so it will look equally full on Sunday night and Monday night. You get two chances to enjoy the Solstice Moon.

Full moons are times when the moon is reflecting all of the sunlight it receives, flooding the earth with powerful energies. These are great times for healing and releasing old blocks. The full moon lights up the night, and energetically, these are times when the light can more easily eliminate the darkness in our lives. A great time to sit quietly and enjoy some self Reiki, which I'm sure I will be doing, or go and book yourself a session, get your chakras back in sync to fully enjoy this special time of the year.
